Although the mechanism of action of this antibiotic has not been determined correctly, but it seems that this antibiotic causes their destruction by affecting the cell membrane of microorganisms, that’s why they consider colistin to be a bactericidal antibiotic, which in the state of growth or rest, kills microbes. and less resistance to this combination has been observed.
