Composition: Each gram contains 100 mg monensin sodium.
Mechanism of action: Monensin is an ionophore coccidiostat that binds to monovalent metal ions such as sodium and potassium to form lipid-soluble ionic complexes, and by increasing the permeability of the parasite cell membrane to ions, it disrupts the ionic balance on both sides of the parasite membrane. . By disrupting the sodium-potassium pump and increasing the entry of sodium into the cell, monensin increases the osmotic pressure and absorbs water into the cell, disrupting the mitochondrial functions and, as a result, destroying the parasite. Compared to other ionophores, monensin reduces water excretion in poultry and prevents the increase of humidity in the substrate.
Indications : prevention and treatment of coccidiosis caused by different Eimeria species in broiler chickens, fattening turkeys and laying hens.
Amount and method of consumption: broilers and laying hens: 1-2.1 kg per ton of feed in broilers up to 3 days before slaughter and in laying hens up to 16 weeks old. Broiler turkeys: 900-1000 grams per ton of feed up to 16 weeks or as prescribed by the veterinarian.
Storage: keep in less than 25 ͦ c and protect it away from straight sun light. Keep out of reach of children.
Contraindications: Do not use in horses or other monotoxics because it can have a toxic effect. It should not be used in laying hens and laying turkeys and other bird species.
Withdrawal time: Stop taking the drug 3 days before slaughtering the poultry.
Interactions: Do not use this drug at the same time with other coccidiosis drugs, chloramphenicol, erythromycin, sulfamides, tiamulin, etc.
Precautions: After opening the package, it should be consumed within 2 months.
Use the ready-to-use medicine within 24 hours at most.
