  • Composition: Each gram of powder contains 200 mg of erythromycin in the form of thiocyanate

 

  • Mechanism of action: Erythromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that prevents the synthesis of bacterial proteins by binding to the 50 S subunit of the ribosome, thus acting on gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, as well as chlamydia, mycoplasmas, and rickettsia.

 

  • Indications: It is prescribed for the treatment of diseases caused by bacterial agents sensitive to erythromycin, such as CRD coryza, infectious synovitis and enteritis in poultry

 

  • Administration and dosage: 20 to 25 mg of pure erythromycin per kilogram of live weight per day (equivalent to 100 to 125 mg of the product). On average, this dose is equivalent to 500 grams to one kilogram of erythromycin 20% in 1000 liters of drinking water based on age and weight. or as prescribed by the veterinarian

 

  • Storage: keep in less than 25 ͦ c and protect it away from straight sun light. Keep out of reach of children.

 

  • Contraindications: The administration of erythromycin is prohibited in layers whose eggs are consumed by human.

 

  • Withdrawal time: poultry meat: 3 days before slaughtering egg: 6days

 

  • Drug interactions: Simultaneous administration of erythromycin with florfenicol, lincosamides and beta-lactams may cause drug interactions. It is also incompatible with hydrocortisone, sulfonamides and tetracyclines.

 

  • Precautions: Water containing medicine should be consumed within 24 hours.

 

  • Keep out of reach of children.
