Composition: Each ml of Sulfamethocide contains 400 mg of sodium sulfadiazine and 80 mg of trimethoprim.
Mechanism of action: Sulfadiazine is from the family of sulfonamides and prevents the conversion of para-aminobenzoic acid to dihydrofolic acid, and trimethoprim prevents the regeneration of dihydrofolic acid in the process of making nucleic acids. These two substances together have a bactericidal effect and are effective on most gram-negative bacteria and some gram-positive bacteria, as well as mycoplasmas and protozoa.
Indications: Sulfamethocide is prescribed for the prevention, control and treatment of many diseases caused by sulfadiazine + trimethoprim-sensitive bacterial agents, such as CRD, colibacillosis, infectious coryza, bacterial pneumonia, and infectious diarrhea caused by salmonella
Administration and dosage: 200 ml of sulfamethocide in 1000 liters of drinking water (equivalent to 15 mg of sulfadiazine + trimethoprim per kilogram of body weight) daily for 3 to 5 consecutive days.
Storage: keep in less than 25 ͦ c and protect it away from straight sun light. Keep out of reach of children.
Contraindications for use: Administering sulfamethocide in laying poultrty whose eggs are consumed by humans is prohibited.
Withdrawal time: 5 days before slaughter
Precautions: After opening the bottle, the contents must be consumed within 60 days.
The prepared solution containing the drug should be consumed within 24 hours.
